As a Realtor in Timmins I was very active in the real estate business. My agents were known to be some of the best trained in the city. From 1989 to 1994 my agents received numerous recognition awards for performance. In 1993 we were introduced to the Floyd Wickman Sweathog Program. My team of Sweathogs still holds the Canadian record for the most transactions written during the program.
In the late 1970's, I was a strong supporter of the MLS system in Timmins and Kirkland Lake. In 1978, my company made it a policy that all listings would be listed as an MLS listing. After about 1 year most other brokers followed my company's lead.
I held every position on the Timmins Real Estate Board and worked closely with other northern boards in promoting the association.
In the mid 1980's, I constructed custom built homes and was a Registered Ontario New Home Warranty Builder.
Since 1975 when I opened my real estate company, I was promoting and arranging mortgages. I have seen rates as high as 21% and worked through those tough times helping people buy homes.
In 1997 I joined the mortgage team at The Mortgage Centre in London Ontario and have consistently been one of the top producers in the office.
Since 1972, a lot has happened in the real estate industry but there has always been one constant.
People need financing to buy a home!
